Entertainment Professionals Maria Brunner, Jim McCue, John Soss, and Jay McCarthy
World-class professionals visit with students enrolled in the Entertainment Management Program to discuss the marketing of entertainment.
Maria Brunner, President and Founder of Insight Management; Jim McCue, Senior Vice-President of Arena Networks, John Soss, Vice-President of Marketing and Media Relations for Jam Productions, and Jay McCarthy, one of Radio Ink Magazine’s Top 10 Radio Programming Directors in America, spent two days with UM students discussing a variety of issues that they face marketing entertainment. When speaking with the students enrolled in MGMT195 Introduction to the Entertainment Business they discussed their professional responsibilities, common challenges, and secrets to success. They also discussed these issues with the students enrolled in MGMT402/403 Principles of Entertainment Management. Additionally, they spent time working with students enrolled in 402/403 to develop marketing plans for the students’ upcoming Spring Thaw Festival, which includes a performance by The Pink Floyd Experience (April 19th), a casino night fundraiser (April 20th) and a festival on the oval (April 24th).
