Talent Agents and Manager Keith Miller, James Yelich, and Bob Burwell

Leading talent agents and artists managers visit with students enrolled in MGMT195 Introduction to the Entertainment Business and MGMT402-403 Principles of Entertainment. Keith Miller, Senior VP of the William Morris Agency, and James Yelich, General Manager of the Paradigm/Monterey Peninsula Agency, were joined by Robert Burwell, Senior VP of Dreamcatcher Entertainment to discuss the role and responsibilities of agents and full service entertainment agencies and management companies. In doing so, they led an engaging discussion on the past, present and future of the music business. Moreover, they discussed why the record segment of the music business is in disarray, while the publishing side of this business continues to flourish. They also indicated that what we see happening in the record side of the business is likely to impact the publishing side of the business soon, if entertainment publishers do not develop new business models that are compatible with consumer demands.
