NFL Player Guy Bingham and NFL/CFL Agent Ken Staninger

NFL veteran player and long time NFL/CFL agent join forces to teach students enrolled in MGMT195 Introduction to the Entertainment Business. UM alum, Guy Bingham, played for 14 years in the NFL. Along the way he learned a lot about valuing strong leadership, a commitment to teamwork, hard work and being prepared. His agent, Ken Staninger has been in the sports agency field for 25+ years. He knows what professional teams require from his players; he knows how to negotiate on their behalf; and, he knows how to get them prepared for what lies ahead. Bingham and Staninger engaged the UM students in a detailed discussion of the complexities involved in signing and marketing athletes, negotiating NFL/CFL contracts, being part of a professional sports team, and transitioning from professional athlete to private business owner.
