Certificate Requirements

Students in Entertainment Management will produce several live events, including but not limited to, the Annual Spring Thaw Festival and Concert; and Casino Night.

Students will be expected to aid in the production of various live events to support local and regional events that serve to benefit people and organizations in need.

Students of Entertainment Management must be registered students of The University of Montana.

Certificate in Entertainment Management

This specialized Certificate in Entertainment Management is designed to allow students to prove their advanced skills in specific areas related to pursuing a career in the field of entertainment management. For certification in entertainment management, students must complete the following program of study:

Required Courses:

MGMT 401: Event Management (3 credits)
MGMT 402: Principles of Entertainment Management 1 (3 credits)
MGMT 403: Principles of Entertainment Management 2 (3 credits)

Plus three of the following courses (required):

MAR 111A: Fundamentals of Integrated Digital Arts (3 credits)
R-TV 151: Introduction to Radio-Television Production (3 credits)
FIN 228: Personal Financial Planning and Investment (3 credits)
IS 477: Multimedia Development for Business (3 credits)
MKTG 411*: Services and Relationship Marketing (3 credits)
MGMT 420**: Leadership and Motivation (3 credits)
MGMT 440: Business Ethics (3 credits)

* MKTG 360 is the prerequisite course.
** MGMT 340 is the prerequisite course.
