John Driscoll: Executive Director of the Missoula Symphony Association

John Driscoll has served as Executive Director of the Missoula Symphony Association since 1999. During his tenure, the Association's budget has doubled, as has attendance at Symphony concerts. He holds a bachelor of music degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a master of music degree from the University of Tennessee. John was a guest instructor for students enrolled in Management 401: Entertainment Venues. He shared his thoughts on leading a local, but internationally known, fine-arts organization. The group discussed the different marketing strategies used, and the many challenges faced by those who lead symphonies including the recruiting and selecting of artists, conductors and the numerous other people who also play important roles in producing a highly respected symphony.
