Kelly Curtis and Tim Bierman, Managers of Pearl Jam, Instruct Students

On September 28th, 2010 Kelly Curtis and Tim Bierman, managers of Pearl Jam, instructed students in our MGMT 495 Artist Development class.  They provided a wealth of information about the various aspects of artist management, from artist relations, to conflict management, to the qualities of an effective manager.  The class has been given the task of developing local artist and UMEM student, Darah Fogarty.  Curtis and Bierman were very impressed with Darah's songwriting and saw a lot of potential in her as a viable artist.  Kelly Curtis is Pearl Jam's general manager and has been with the band since they formed in 1990. Bierman has managed Pearl Jam's fan club, The Ten Club since 1998.
